Chris Sutton claims that Graham Potter made a “really odd” tactical decision during his final game as the Chelsea head coach.
Graham Potter, 47, was sacked by Chelsea on Sunday just seven months into a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
His final game in charge was the weekend’s 2-0 home defeat against Aston Villa, which meant the Blues dropped into the bottom half of the Premier League table.
The Englishman is now starting to receive some farewell messages from Blues players. Marc Cucurella posted a nine-word message to Potter on Instagram. Similarly, Ben Chilwell uploaded a three-word message to Potter on his Instagram.

Chelsea’s loss against Villa proved to be the final nail in the coffin for Potter’s spell in charge.
It’s interesting to hear BBC pundits Micah Richards and Chris Sutton both flag the same poor tactical decision from him in the Villa defeat.
They were both stunned to see Reece James at centre-back and Ruben Loftus-Cheek as the right wing-back.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s The Monday Night Club, Richards: “All the space was on Villa’s left hand side, where Loftus-Cheek got into so many great positions and you are thinking just put Reece James there and put on Chalobah centre-half.
Sutton replied: “You made some good points about Reece James playing at centre-back and Loftus-Cheek playing at right wing-back. That was really odd.

If we’ve got any advice for Bruno Saltor tonight, it’s to play Reece James in his best position.
Bruno takes charge this evening as Chelsea’s interim boss in a Premier League match at home to Liverpool.
We’ve got to agree that you need as many as your best players in their best positions, so using James as a centre-back in a back three is limiting his influence. Let’s hope he’s restored to the right wing-back role tonight.
