TalkSPORT pundit Perry Groves has claimed that Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling will definitely start for England later today.
The Three Lions are gearing up to get their tournament underway in Group B, with a fixture against Iran on the horizon today.
Sterling has endured a rough run of form this season, especially since Graham Potter joined the club following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel.

He has scored just two goals, both in the Champions League, since the former Brighton man made the switch to London.
He has not always been operated in his favoured position. Potter has attempted to feature him in a wing-back role, which has ultimately not been a success.
Nevertheless, Groves believes the 27-year-old has to start for Gareth Southgate’s side this afternoon.
Sterling has to start
He said: “On the left, I’ve gone for Raheem Sterling, because he can play on the left-hand-side and come inside.
“You know you mentioned all those players who are shoo-ins, I think Raheem Sterling is a shoo-in as well.”
Sterling’s international tournament form suggests he should certainly be part of the starting side.
He scored all of the goals the country scored in the group stages, before opening the scoring against Germany in the Round of 16.

Reports have already claimed that he will be part of an attacking looking side for the opener today, with him expected to feature on the wing opposite Bukayo Saka.
The report goes on to say that fellow Chelsea man Mason Mount will also start against Iran, despite calls from many pundits for him to be dropped.
A strong showing from both today would be perfect for their personal confidence, whilst also boosting their chances to compete in the remainder of the group games, as well as deeper in the tournament.
