Danny Murphy has claimed that Chelsea star Mason Mount nearly always makes the right decision in games.
Mount, 22, made a superb return to the Blues side on Wednesday night in the Premier League win away to Watford.
The England international scored and assisted during the 2-1 victory at Vicarage Road, which keeps Thomas Tuchel’s side at the top of the league table.
First of all, he powered in a low finish inside the box to open the scoring at Watford. Afterwards, he assisted Hakim Ziyech’s winning strike with a brilliant cross on his weaker left foot.
Mount’s been in and out of the starting XI so far this season, something he’s not been used to in the last couple of years at Stamford Bridge. However, the attacking midfielder looks refreshed and will be hoping to impress during the festive period.
BBC pundit Murphy was left waxing lyrical about Chelsea’s playmaker after last night’s performance.
“He’s got that quality and that desire to keep getting in behind and keep getting in dangerous areas,” Murphy told Match of the Day (1 December).
“They’ve got lots of quality players but it was great to see him back… You know what you get from him.
“You get great technique, great touch, and that willingness to get in places that’s going to score him goals. He pops up on the left, right. No matter where he plays he’s always a threat.
“He keeps getting in these types of positions and very rarely makes the wrong decision on when to cross when to shoot.”

Don’t doubt Chelsea gem Mount
In fairness, Mount’s made a quiet start to the campaign based off the incredible standards of the last couple of years.
There wasn’t an indiction against Watford that he may be ready to shine again, though.
A small drop off has been understandable after a rollercoaster time, but he’s now got to get stuck into reclaiming his spot in the Blues XI.
His return of four goals and three assists in 17 games this season is decent considering he’s gone under the radar. It feels like he’ll need to keep boosting his attacking input to stay in Tuchel’s line-up.
