Chris Waddle perfectly described the current state of affairs at Chelsea following their shabby performance against Newcastle United.
Speaking on BBC Radio Live, the former Magpie chastised Graham Potter’s side for offering virtually nothing to the contest at Saint James’ Park.
Chelsea were predominantly passengers in the 1-0 defeat, courtesy of a terrific drive from Joe Willock in the second-half.
Whilst the score-line looked to be a tight one, the displays of the respective teams told a different story.
Newcastle ran the show virtually from start to finish, dominating their opponents both in and out of possession.
They were worthy winners on the night and rightly reduced Chelsea to their third Premier League defeat on the spin.
“Newcastle deserved it. That bit of pushing and shoving from Chelsea was the most fight we have seen from them all night. Newcastle thoroughly deserved it,” said Waddle.
“Chelsea nice on the eye, but they don’t go anywhere. They don’t create anything.
“You can see why they’ve lost the last few games. Graham Potter has a big job on his hands to turn this club around.
“I know he’ll have the resources but it’s all about Newcastle United at the moment.”

Potter’s men allowed their emotions to overthrow them at the full-time whistle, as a mass brawl broke out between the two camps.
Where was this aggression when the Blues actually needed it most?
Potter’s troop appeared apprehensive and often short of ideas.
Other than Armando Broja’s tame first-half effort, and Conor Gallagher’s slightly more dangerous attempt, Chelsea offered nothing offensively.
Throwing on the likes of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic changed very little.
Big changes must happen after the World Cup, otherwise the Stamford Bridge ship could sink very quickly.
