Mason Mount made his 100th appearance for Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final first-leg draw against Real Madrid. But who has made most appearances for the club?
Chelsea’s all-time record appearance makers
In all competitions, club legend Ron Harris who spent 19 years at the club (1961-1980) is by far leading the charts with 795 appearances.
It includes 655 league appearances, 64 in the FA Cup, 48 in the League Cup and 27 in European competitions.
Iconic goalkeeper Peter Bonetti is second on the list, having made 729 appearances in all competitions in the two spells of his 19-year Chelsea career (1959-1975 and 1976-1979).
Chelsea’s most-successful captain John Terry is third with 717 appearances, followed by Frank Lampard (648 apps) and John Hollins (592 apps) in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Premier League record appearance makers
Since the inception of the Premier League in 1992, Terry has made more appearances than anyone else at Chelsea in the competition (492).
The centre-back made his first Premier League debut as a substitute in a 2-0 away win over Southampton on 26 December 1998.
He made his final appearance on 21 May 2017 against Southampton, in which he received a guard of honour as he left the pitch in the 26th minute of the game, matching his iconic shirt number.
Lampard (429) and Petr Cech (333) have had second and third most Premier League appearances for Chelsea, respectively.
Active record appearance makers
Among the current Chelsea squad, team captain Cesar Azpilicueta has made more appearances than anyone else in the team.
Since joining the club in 2012 from Marseille, the 31-year-old has made 421 appearances in all competitions, including 293 games in the Premier League.
The defender is currently joint-eighth in the all-time record list, but only need 21 more appearances to equal Dennis Wise’s record of 445 apps in seventh.
