Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson is in advanced talks with Ipswich Town over a potential loan move.

That is according to a report from The Athletic.

They claim that Championship side Ipswich are now in pole position to sign Omari Hutchinson, who’s been marked by Chelsea as someone that needs to go out on loan next season.

It is understood that the Blues think the 19-year-old attacking midfielder is ‘too talented’ to be playing Under-21s football in the Premier League 2 division.

The report explains that Ipswich are in advanced talks to sign the Jamacia international on loan, but he’s got a few options to consider and a final decision should be made by the end of the week.

Hutchinson’s played just two first-team games in his career, both coming last season for Chelsea. However, the former Arsenal youth talent has bags of potential and needs to experience senior action.

We definitely like the idea of him dropping down to the Championship to improve his game, which has worked brilliantly for so many players over the years.

The teenager is an exciting playmaker with a great left foot and superb dribbling, but he’ll need to adapt to the physicality of first-team football.

Hopefully, Ipswich can be the perfect place to do just that.

Carney Chukwuemeka told Chelsea’s official YouTube channel earlier this year that he’s so impressed by Hutchinson’s “fearlessness and his dribbling.”
