Chelsea’s Denis Zakaria was reportedly left really disappointed when Thomas Tuchel was sacked last month.

The Blues hierarchy decided to get rid of Tuchel as their manager in September, who exited Stamford Bridge as a big favourite with supporters for what he achieved in West London.

Since then, Graham Potter has kickstarted his reign as the new Blues boss with five wins and one draw from six games.

Zakaria joined Chelsea on loan from Juventus in the closing stages of the summer transfer window, but is yet to actually make an appearance for the club under Tuchel or Potter.

Zakaria disappointed Tuchel was sacked

According to well-respected journalist Ben Jacobs on Twitter, Zakaria was disappointed when Tuchel was dismissed by Chelsea.

It is understood that the 25-year-old player is now concerned that the Blues may look to strengthen in the midfield in January.

Therefore, the Swiss midfielder could actually see his loan spell at the Bridge cut short and he may return to parent club Juventus.

Zakaria is frustrated that he can’t get any game minutes, with his situation described as “fragile.”

Right now, this Zakaria deal is somehow making last year’s Saul Niguez transfer look good.

Midfielder Saul didn’t click well into the Chelsea side last season during his year-long loan from Atletico Madrid, but he did make 23 appearances across all competitions.

As it stands, Zakaria hasn’t even got on the pitch.

Potter said in his press conference today that Zakaria is impressing in Chelsea training and he’s patiently waiting for an appearance. He shut down suggestions that a decision has been made on his future, too.

Blues supporters are desperate to see the defensive midfielder on the pitch to make their own minds up about him.

The former Borussia Monchengladbach star was very highly rated earlier in his career, but it’s not quite worked out for him in 2022 with Juventus, and now Chelsea.
