Tottenham could now be set to focus their attention on trying to sign Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

Spurs are the Premier League club to come racing out the gate at the start of the January transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou’s side completed the signing of Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig this week. Also, Genoa’s Radu Dragusin has agreed an imminent move to North London, reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano on X.

There’s now fresh transfer speculation that suggests Spurs will kick on and go in search of a third new signing this month.

The Independent has claimed today that Spurs are pressing ahead with plans to sign a new central midfielder.

It is understood that Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher is their priority target.

The report explains that the 23-year-old Blues star perfectly fits the profile that Spurs wants in a new midfielder, someone that can provide great energy and running power.

Apparently, Chelsea may be prepared to sell the England international for the right price, which could be up to £50m.

Conor Gallagher a Tottenham priority

Spurs are acting quickly and aggressively in this transfer window so far, which is why Chelsea fans may be a little concerned about today’s rumours.

The Blues supporters have been reading for weeks speculation about a potential Gallagher exit, with the club still yet to extend a deal that expires in 18 months time.

Our hope is that common sense prevails and the box-to-box central midfielder stays at Stamford Bridge. Let’s just stress that he’s grown into a key first-team player for the Blues this season, even captaining the team on numerous occasions.

Journalist Alex Crook told GiveMeSport recently that Chelsea’s players are fully against the idea of Gallagher leaving the club.
