AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho could be about to raid his former club Chelsea for one of their players.
Central defender Trevoh Chalobah has been offered to Roma, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.
Galetti claims that the Serie A outfit are interested in a loan but Chelsea want a permanent transfer, making things difficult.
Last summer, the Evening Standard reported that the Blues valued Chalobah at £50m.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside last month that the 24-year-old will leave Stamford Bridge in January.

Trevoh Chalobah offered to AS Roma
It is not quite clear who has offered Chalobah to Roma, his people or Chelsea, but whatever the case, it is good that a move to another club is opening up for him.
The former England U21 international is a decent player. He has Premier League experience and can play in central defence and at right-back. However, he has practically become surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino currently has Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana who can all start at centre-back.
Levi Colwill has been playing at left-back this season, but the 20-year-old is also a central defender by trade.
That is a lot of options and Chelsea could yet add to it as they continue to be linked with a move for Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
Chalobah is currently out injured, but going forward, he is likely to see little game time because of all of the competition in central defence. It is why a move to Roma this month could make a lot of sense.
Chelsea are obviously Chalobah’s boyhood club; he probably would like to remain at Stamford Bridge. But if the defender wants to be an important player, he needs to leave west London. Chalobah is just not going to be that under Pochettino.
