One Chelsea player looks set to reject a big-money move to Saudi Arabia in the summer.

Raheem Sterling is among a number of Premier League stars wanted in the Saudi Pro League, according to talkSPORT.

However, the same outlet claims that the winger is ready to turn down a move there and help Chelsea fight for major honours instead.

Chelsea signed Sterling from Manchester City for £50m (BBC Sport) in 2022 and he had a chance to win his first trophy since leaving Pep Guardiola’s side last Sunday.

The 29-year-old and his team-mates, though, were unable to defeat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, losing 1-0.

After a strong start to the season, Sterling has not been consistent enough as the campaign has gone on.

In his first few games, he caused teams a lot of problems with his speed and dribbling and managed to score a brace against Luton Town.

Overall, though, Sterling has blown hot and cold this season. His last goal in the Premier League, which came against his former side City, was his first in the top flight since November.

Nevertheless, the England international could still be a player worth keeping around. He is one of the few experienced footballers left in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad.

And with Thiago Silva possibly set to leave at the end of the season when his contract expires, the number could get lower.

Sterling has not met expectations, managing to score just six goals in 28 Premier League outings last term. But we think he is still a useful player who can pop up with the odd goal. Unless a Saudi Pro League club make an offer that Chelsea cannot turn down, which is not impossible when you look at all of the spending that has been done in that division lately, the Blues should retain the former City star.
