Chelsea have been heavily linked with Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun in recent weeks.

Indeed, a recent report has claimed that the Blues have made a breakthrough in pursuit of the striker.

By the looks of it, Balogun seemingly wants to join Chelsea.

Football Transfers reported on Monday that the West Londoners have agreed personal terms with Balogun.

Apparently, there is optimism from the Blues that they’ll be able to come to an agreement with their rivals.

However, at the time of writing, Chelsea and Arsenal remain at loggerheads over Balogun’s valuation.

The Blues reportedly won’t pay over £30million, while the Gunners are holding out for £50million.

When it comes to transfer activity, fans like to look for clues, whether intentional or coincidental, on social media.

Balogun has now left a comment on one of Noni Madueke’s most recent Instagram posts.

The Chelsea ace took to the social media platform to express his happiness at being fit again.

Madueke made his return to action against West Ham after only being on the bench against Liverpool.

And Balogun posted a ‘hands up’ emoji in response.

Our view

Obviously we can’t get ahead of ourselves here.

Balogun and Madueke know each other from their time in the England Under-21 setup. They have played together on several occasions.

By the looks of it, they’re friends, or at least acquaintances. And one is sending a message (emoji) of support after the other one has returned from injury.

Nonetheless, with links between Balogun and Chelsea appearing concrete, it’s still a sort of lead that could bode well for the Blues.

Let’s see how things develop in the coming weeks.
