There’s a chance Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella could leave when the next transfer window comes around.
That is according to a report from Sport.
They claim that Marc Cucurella, 25, was “very close” to exiting Chelsea in the summer amid loan interest from both Newcastle United and Manchester United.
It is explained that a route away from Stamford Bridge could be an option for January.
The report says that the Spanish left-back is currently working overtime to try force his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea line-up.

It’s great to hear Cucurella is working extra hard and staying professional despite a lack of opportunities so far under Pochettino.
The £60million full-back (Sky Sports) has played zero minutes this season in the Premier League and watched all the games from the Blues bench.
He played 90 minutes in a Carabao Cup win over AFC Wimbledon last month, but it look like he’s quite far down the pecking order right now.
It feels like Pochettino considers both Levi Colwill and Ben Chilwell as more viable starter in the left-back position.

We’re struggling to see a path back into the Chelsea side right now for Cucurella, barring injuries.
Him and Ian Maatsen are in a similar boat where they may just have to grin and bear it until the New Year, when they can then assess their own situations.
