Riyad Mahrez has been named Manchester City’s Player of the Month for February less than 24 hours after being linked with Chelsea.
Mahrez enjoyed a quite sterling few weeks in the colours of Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions.
He scored five times in six appearances across three different competitions, with two assists also to his name.
The 31-year-old began the month as meant to go on, bagging a brace against Fulham in the FA Cup.

Returning to league action, the Algerian international netted the first in a 2-0 win away to Brentford.
His fourth of the fortnight occurred under the bright lights of the Champions League knockout stages.
City hit Sporting Lisbon for five that night, with Mahrez opening the demolition after seven minutes.
Guardiola’s side did follow up this European exhibition by rather surprisingly losing 3-2 at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
Rather inevitably though, Mahrez managed to grab a goal for himself.
Magical months for Mahrez
March hasn’t been too bad either for the elegant attacker.
Peterborough succumbed to his left foot, before Manchester United were delt the same wrath twice in the derby last weekend.
Overall, it’s been a joyous season by all accounts where the slight forward is concerned.
Nobody at City even comes close to his 21 goals, with only a handful ahead of him in the assist count.

Therefore, the fact Chelsea are reportedly eager to sign the £60m (BBC) former Leicester City star next summer should come as little surprise.
Yesterday, Foot Mercato made the claim about the Blues wanting to land the player when his contract expires in 2023.
Of course, the Champions League holders will not be alone in their potential pursuit.
Few would turn down the opportunity to marvel at Mahrez on a daily basis.
You certainly wouldn’t hear us complaining.
