Chelsea target Moises Caicedo may have dropped a hint that he could leave Brighton this summer.
Moises Caicedo, who was a hot topic for discussion in the January transfer window, signed a new Brighton deal last month.
The 21-year-old midfielder has explained in an interview with The Telegraph this week that he came “really close” to joining Arsenal in January.
Further comments seem to suggest he could still end up leaving the Amex Stadium after this season.
Caicedo told The Telegraph: “I just want to have a really good season with Brighton now, to finish off the season well and play really well and then we’ll see what happens next season.”

The Times claimed last month that Arsenal are confident they can beat Chelsea in the transfer race to sign Caicedo this summer.
In fairness, the Gunners sit top of the Premier League table right now and will have Champions League football next season. In contrast, it doesn’t look like there will be any European football on offer at Stamford Bridge in the 2023/24 campaign.
According to the Daily Mail in March, Chelsea don’t think Caicedo’s new contract will have any impact on their chances of signing him. The report explains that Brighton will be in a stronger position to ask for their £80million valuation, though.

Caicedo looks destined to play at the very top when you watch him.
It’s worth pointing out his Brighton side are in an FA Cup semi-final this weekend. Also, they’re firmly in the mix for a European finish in the Premier League this season.
He’s an all-action defensive midfielder who’s great at breaking up play and getting across the pitch.
It does feel like he could be the closest thing we’ve seen to N’Golo Kante, which is perhaps the biggest compliment we can give him.
