Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is not dying to move to the Premier League amid links with Chelsea.

That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who has been speaking to GiveMeSport.

There has been a lot of speculation about Chelsea being interested in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with 90min recently claiming that the Blues have been scouting the Georgian.

However, Jones has suggested that Kvaratskhelia may not necessarily be keen on a switch to England like some other players.

Last month, Calciomercato reported that the 22-year-old could cost €100m (£85.8m).

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia not desperate to move to the Premier League

Chelsea may have some convincing to do if they want to bring Kvaratskhelia to Stamford Bridge.

On the attacker, Jones told GiveMeSport: “We always believe that because we’ve got the best league in the world here in England that everyone wants to come and play here, but they don’t. Some players just don’t have that desire to come to the Premier League.

“I think all the signals so far are that Kvaratskhelia doesn’t really have that same desire to get to the Premier League as some other players do. I think part of that is because of the type of player he is and the style of football he plays. It might not work.”

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia not an easy deal for Chelsea

For many reasons, then, it looks like it could be really difficult for Chelsea to sign Kvaratskhelia.

As well as the above, you also have to consider the fact that Kvaratskhelia is not going to be cheap. Napoli will not want to lose such a key player.

On top of that, Chelsea will probably not be in the Champions League next season. That could give some of the player’s other potential suitors an advantage over the Blues.

It would be great if Chelsea could land an attacker of Kvaratskhelia’s quality. Glen Johnson recently urged his former club to keep an eye on him.

He was such a threat for Napoli last term, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in Serie A. Unfortunately for Mauricio Pochettino, though, he may prove to be just out of reach.

It is not impossible, it never is for Chelsea, who have the money to sign practically anyone. But a lot of things are going against them here. Landing the Georgia international in January or next summer is not going to be easy.
