Chelsea forward Timo Werner may reportedly be open to the idea of leaving Stamford Bridge this summer – but some Blues fans on Twitter have responded to the transfer rumour by claiming it would be a big mistake.
90min reports that Werner is aware Chelsea are looking to sign a new striker, so he would be prepared to exit if he has to.
It is understood the 25-year-old may be open to departing London after just one year.
With Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland frequently linked, it does pose the question of where Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel fits Werner into his XI next season.
Werner, who did receive criticism for his inconsistent finishing during his debut season in England, still ended up a Champions League winner.
The German attacker scored 12 goals and made 15 assists in 52 games across all competitions during the previous campaign.

If you consider Werner had 27 direct goal contributions last season, it’s quite telling some have called him a Chelsea flop.
He didn’t reach the dizzy heights last year that he showed at RB Leipzig, but was still influential.
His flexibility means he can play in a number of attacking positions within Tuchel’s system, so surely he’ll still get minutes next season.
