Jadon Sancho could now join Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq after Chelsea chose to sign Cole Palmer instead of the Manchester United winger.
That is according to CBS Sports.
So, what is the latest on Jadon Sancho? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to the Daily Mail – Chelsea were offered the chance to buy the England international for £45m towards the end of the transfer window.
However, the Blues decided to sign Palmer in a £42.5m move from Manchester City instead.
Sancho has become available after Erik ten Hag dropped him for the 3-2 defeat against Arsenal due to poor displays in training, while Manchester United are also fed up with his timekeeping, again according to the Daily Mail.
Now, the 23-year-old could be shipped out to Saudi Arabia after Chelsea declined the opportunity to sign him.
CBS Sports believe Gerrard’s side are plotting a late move to sign Sancho on loan for the 2023/24 campaign ahead of the Saudi Arabian transfer deadline tonight.

Al-Ettifaq are also willing to include a purchase option in the deal, although CBS Sports believe a straight loan move is more likely.
Sancho’s personal views on the move are unknown as things stand, although this may represent his only chance to play regular first-team football until at least January after falling out with Ten Hag.
Gerrard has already brought Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and Demarai Gray to Al-Ettifaq, so the Manchester United No.25 would at least have some familiar faces to help him settle.
Chelsea were right to ignore Jadon Sancho
It is genuinely quite sad to see Sancho struggling and linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, given the fact he was one of the hottest forwards on the planet when moving to Manchester United in 2021.
We hope to see the Camberwell-born winger return to his best one day, but in the meantime, Chelsea were right to let the situation play out away from Stamford Bridge.

Palmer is ready to play immediately and is not surrounded by a lot of drama right now, so it made far more sense to sign him over Sancho.
Hopefully, the England international can get back to his best soon – wherever he ends up.
