After Joao Pedro, ‘amazing’ youngster has just completed his medical to join Chelsea

Chelsea are not hanging around when it comes to completing their transfer business ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The Blues were quick to the scene to bring Liam Delap to the club, and have now added Joao Pedro to the first team squad that are in the United States.

Pedro is available for the Club World Cup quarter-finals, and could instantly be selected for a showdown with countryman Estevao Willian and Palmeiras.

The Blues are also expected to bring in Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, however he wouldn’t be eligible for the competition anyway after already featuring for the Bundesliga side.

Kian Best completes medical and signs for Chelsea

As has been a common theme since Todd Boehly took over the club, the club have continued to stock up on young talent, and one player they have been linked with this summer is Kian Best.

Chelsea have been linked with Best since it emerged he wouldn’t be signing a new contract with Preston North End.

It looks as if the Blues have got their man. Journalist Dan Marsh has claimed that the young defender has signed his contract with Chelsea after completing his medical.

He said: “Former Preston defender Kian Best has now completed a medical + signed for Chelsea. Interest first emerged last month. 19yo left-back was a free agent after his contract at Deepdale expired + expected to link up with Chelsea development squad.”

The teenager will be competing with Ishe Samuels-Smith for minutes, although reports are linking him with a loan move away from the club.

Who is Kian Best?

Best is a 19-year-old who predominantly plays in the left-back role, however last season did not see him make too many appearances.

In fact, he didn’t feature for Preston after the opening game of the season, and was let go by the club at the end of the campaign.

Best has made more of an impact on the international stage, making five appearances for an England U19s side which has at times featured Tyrique George and Josh Acheampong.

The youngster has clearly impressed when he has been given the chance, with former teammate Liam Lindsey describing him as ‘amazing’ (Deepdale Digest)
