Some Chelsea fans have reacted to a social media interaction between club legend Didier Drogba and Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku amid transfer speculations.

The transfer rumour initially came from a report from The Telegraph that claims Chelsea are considering the Inter Milan ace as an alternative to Erling Haaland.

Lukaku, who spent three years at Chelsea before joining Everton on a permanent move in 2014, currently ranks second in the Serie A goalscoring charts with 19 goals.

In all competitions for both Inter and Belgium, the 27-year-old has raked an impressive total of 32 goals so far this season.

Drogba recently commented on Lukaku’s achievement on being the first European player to score 59 goals before the age of 28 since Germany legend Gerd Muller, to which Lukaku responded by saying: “We workin..”

The interaction has excited some Chelsea fans who apparently took it as a a hint amid the transfer rumours.

Lukaku sees Drogba as mentor

To be fair, it might be a normal conversation between two old friends.

Lukaku has previously opened up on how he learned a lot from Drogba and Nicolas Anelka when he was at Chelsea.

“[At Chelsea], I [first] met Didier Drogba [and] he was doing physiotherapy,” Lukaku told Bleacher Report on a Twitch stream (via Goal) last year.

“He told me immediately that I had to show him the ‘Blue’ character.

“From that day on we started talking every day for at least an hour, before training, after training.”
