Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on Twitter that Cesare Casadei has chosen Chelsea as his next club, with them set to agree a deal soon.

The highly-rated Italian midfielder has been the latest young star the Blues have looked to add to their ranks, as they continue to build towards the future under their new owners.

They have already secured a deal for former Aston Viilla man Carney Chukwuemeka, who Thomas Tuchel has been impressed enough by the youngster that he is willing to keep them at Chelsea for this season.

Gabriel Slonina was another young name added to their ranks after months of speculation, with the goalkeeper being sent back on loan to Chicago Fire to complete the MLS season.

Their path to future greatness has continued with Casadei, and Romano has confirmed that they have now agreed personal terms with the teenager ahead of an imminent deal.

Chelsea agree terms with Casadei

He said: “Cesare Casadei has agreed personal terms with Chelsea on six-year deal. Decision made, he’s not joining Nice or Sassuolo as Chelsea are closing on deal to sign Inter’s 2003 born talent.

“Chelsea’s next official bid will be the right one to complete the deal for €15m plus add-ons.”

The business completed by Todd Boehly so far will be encouraging for Chelsea fans, who have seen the new owners not disregard future talents in exchange for instant success.

This is not to say that the American has not been noticeably making moves to strengthen the current crop, with three new signings starting Sunday’s key match against Tottenham.

It is currently unclear whether Casadei, who scored 17 goals at youth level for Inter Milan last season, will be promoted straight to the first team this season. However, the length of the deal shows they have big plans for his future.
