Chelsea have been reportedly linked with a summer move for Porto defender, but that’s if Zinedine Zidane becomes the club’s new manager in place of Maurizio Sarri.
According to the Sun, Zidane would be prepared to come to Stamford Bridge and would be given £200million to spend on new signings amid pressure on current boss Sarri.
It is understood that Zidane would not be put off by a two-window transfer suspension that the Blues have picked up for the recruitment of young players.
The report details that the West London club have appealed the punishment and that may mean they can sign players in the summer before a potential ban commences.
The Sun’s report adds that ex-Real Madrid boss would target four high-profile additions and Porto left-back Telles is one of them for £35million.
Sarri is still the mean in the Chelsea hot seat right now, but regardless of the manager next year the team needs a new left-back.
Marcos Alonso has massively declined in recent times and is far too attack-minded to be a full-back in a back four, while Emerson Palmieri is still improving and isn’t ready for the main role.
Telles would be an ideal fit for the Blues and certainly an upgrade in the left-back area.
The left-footed Brazilian is currently a star player for Portuguese giants Porto and has played every minute of their Champions League campaign so far.
He is a left-back that is extremely difficult to beat one-on-one and would light up the Premier League if given the chance.
The 26-year-old is also a set-piece specialist with good quality in the final third and could help plug a crucial Chelsea hole.
His incredible technique from crosses has already seen him make nine assists across all competitions this season and last campaign he supplied 20 assists.
