Chelsea have a decision to make with Andrey Santos after keeping him off the untouchables list.

As Xabi Alonso shapes his vision for Chelsea, a list of seven untouchable players have been established to form the Blues’ core. This foundation consists of captain Reece James, Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, Joao Pedro, Estevao Willian, and academy graduate Josh Acheampong.

As you will notice, left off this protected list is Andrey Santos. Despite breaking through into the first team last season, the midfielder is reportedly available at the right price, signaling that Chelsea’s hierarchy is fully prepared to make ruthless decisions as this summer overhaul begins.

Andrey Santos’ camp explore a move away

In an update entirely on Andrey Santos, the BBC are claiming that those close to the midfielder seem open to the possibility of a move, and his situation is one that could evolve over the coming months.

A number of sides are understood to be interested in Santos, plus the Blues also remain under a UEFA settlement agreement, which places constraints on spending.

However, a price tag hasn’t been placed on the midfielder yet.

Enzo Fernandez needs to leave Chelsea for the good of the club 👋🏻

Chelsea run the risk of another transfer mistake

What won’t help his cause at Chelsea is the arrival of Valentin Barco and the ongoing interest in Granit Xhaka, which if you combine with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who are already at the club, there doesn’t seem to be much of a spot for him in the side.

It’s a shame when you consider the impact he had at times last season, often standing out as the best in his position. And given he’s just 22 years old, this could be one of those transfer mistakes we come back to in a few years time when he’s flying high at one of the best clubs in Europe.
