Barcelona have now provided Chelsea with a boost after the Spanish giants decided to withdraw from the race to sign Angelo from Santos.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano.
So, what are the details involving Angelo and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the reliable Italian journalist revealed on Wednesday that Chelsea were in advanced talks to sign the Brazilian wonderkid after Santos accepted a €15m bid (£13m).
Barcelona had the opportunity to match that offer and speak to Angelo themselves.
However, Romano has now claimed that Xavi’s side will not be making a move of their own for the 18-year-old.
Instead, Barcelona will target Vitor Roque – another South American gem who was supposedly on Chelsea’s radar.

Impressively, the Blues managed to get a £38m discount on Angelo – according to The Athletic – striking a deal with Santos which is well below the attacker’s release clause.
The teenager will now undergo a medical with Chelsea and discuss personal terms.
Chelsea have plan for Angelo
If anyone out there was looking forward to seeing Angelo play under Mauricio Pochettino next season, we’re afraid we have to disappoint you.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea’s plan is to send the South American out on loan to Strasbourg after Todd Boehly completed a 100% takeover of the French side.
In our view, that is a very smart move.
Strasbourg play in Ligue 1, France’s top-flight, which will give Angelo the chance to develop his potential at a very high level, up against established, senior professionals.

Hopefully, the youngster does well and can make a name for himself at Chelsea in the 2024/25 campaign alongside other elite talents such as Cesare Casadei, Andrey Santos and Carney Chukwuemeka.
Be sure to keep an eye on this developing situation, as Chelsea should officially announce the signing of Angelo soon.
