A large section of social media Chelsea supporters urged Roman Abramovich to jump on the Eden Hazard bandwagon following a potentially huge update.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Real Madrid are prepared to sell their brittle Belgian in January for just £21m.

West Ham United and Everton are the two Premier League clubs said to be most interested by this reported revelation.

Madrid have seemingly come to the end of their tether with the 30-year-old and will accept a sizeable loss from the initial fee forked out for his services.

Hazard swapped Stamford Bridge for Spanish sunshine in 2019, joining Madrid in a deal worth £89m (BBC).

The fall from grace has been of meteoric proportions.

Brusied and broken Belgian

Repeated trips to the treatment room have torn the forward’s La Liga career to shreds.

In just over two seasons at Los Blancos, Chelsea’s former number 10 has only made 54 appearances, and he has only scored a mere five goals and assisted a further nine.

His future at the Bernabeu continues to look very uncertain, hence the hierarchy’s apparent desire to make him someone else’s problem.

Gifted with a potential reunion with their beloved player, Blues fans ordered the people in power to pay the relatively cheap price for Hazard.

Here’s how they reacted to the Sunday Mirror’s story on Twitter:

Stay away from nostalgia

In our view, as much as Hazard’s possible return to South West London sounds like a love story waiting to be told, the deal just doesn’t seem right.

Just a glance at his medical history suggests the last thing he needs is to compete with the physicality of the English top flight.

Plus, arguably the one area Chelsea doesn’t need to strengthen in the next transfer window is up front.

A centre-back and central midfielder should be high on the club’s priority list instead.
