Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham – and some Spurs fans on Twitter are positive about their links to him.
Well-respected Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Spurs consider the Chelsea defender as a plan B in their mission to sign a new centre-back.
It is understood that he’s worth £21.3million (€25million) in the current market.
Zouma, who’s made exactly 150 senior appearances as a Chelsea player, does only have two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
He’s a 26-year-old centre-half who’s thrived in the Premier League due to his physicality, aggression and ability in the air. Admittedly, his ball-playing can still improve.
The Frenchman wasn’t a part of Thomas Tuchel’s best Chelsea XI last season. However, that’s hardly a disgrace to him. The Blues can select from Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger in the back three.
Tottenham fans give green light on interest in Chelsea man Zouma
A selection of Spurs fans on social media believe that Chelsea’s defender could improve them.
With Toby Alderweireld already leaving them this summer, it’s clear they need some fresh blood in their vulnerable backline.
Zouma, on his day, is a really impressive figure in the heart of defence. Also, he was a popular player under ex-boss Frank Lampard.
It would be odd seeing him play across London, though.
This may come down to whether Zouma is happy with his current position in the Blues squad.
Here are some Spurs fans that would like to sign Zouma:
