Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has played the rumours linking Chelsea forward Kai Havertz with a possible summer move to Allianz Arena.

The transfer speculations likely stemmed from Thomas Tuchel’s appointment at Bayern and the good relationship between Havertz and his former manager.

In fairness, Havertz’s recent interview, in which he admitted that it is difficult for any German player to turn down an offer from Bayern helped fuel these rumours.

Fabrizio Romano, however, claimed that there was no indication that Bayern and Chelsea had any conversation about a possible agreement for the versatile forward.

Bayern chief Kahn has now even had his say about this.

“It doesn’t make sense to mention any names right now,” the former Germany goalkeeper told BILD’s Lage der Liga when asked about Havertz links.

“As I said, our focus is fully on this season and not on future topics.

“After these two months are over, you can imagine where we’ll turn our focus.”

Well, it is very unlikely that Chelsea would be open to negotiations for their leading goalscorer in the first place.

Chelsea are indeed under pressure to trim their squad and raise funds from player sales amid recent financial losses, but Havertz is likely far down the list of the players that they would want to sell.

Aside from Bayern, Havertz is recently said to have attracted the interest of Real Madrid as well.
