'Big opportunity': Fabrizio Romano says attacker discussed by Chelsea may cost bargain £25m, but on one condition

Leeds United’s Raphinha could end up costing a bargain price in the summer amid transfer interest from Chelsea.

According to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, there is a clause in Raphinha’s deal at Elland Road that means he will be available for £25million if Leeds are relegated from the Premier League.

It is understood that Raphinha’s agent, Deco, has already discussed his client with several clubs. Apparently, he’s held talks with Liverpool, Barcelona and Chelsea.

As it stands, Leeds are 16th in the table with a four-point cushion above the relegation zone. It’s worrying for them that some of the teams below have played less games, though. They’ve recent sacked popular manager Marcelo Bielsa to replace him with Jesse Marsch, too.

It would be an extreme bargain if Raphinha could be snapped up for £25million at the end of the season, but it’s on the condition Leeds go down.

James Officially Returns To HITC!

The Brazil international is an exciting right-winger that loves to dribble and cut inside on his favoured left foot.

Aged 25, he’s the talisman in the Leeds side that’s going to be massive in their battle to avoid the drop.

He’s already scored nine Premier League goals this season, along with three assists.

Chelsea’s attack next season

Of course, the club’s ownership needs to be resolved before fans start thinking about any signings in the summer.

However, it’s interesting to consider what the XI may look like at the beginning of the next campaign.

For certain, Kai Havertz’s form in 2022 suggests he can be a long-term solution in the forward line for the Blues. Therefore, the future of Romelu Lukaku is a big talking point.

Elsewhere, Mason Mount is pivotal for his side. Hakim Ziyech has shown signs he can recapture his form, too.

It’smay be a tall order for Raphinha to break into the current Chelsea side, but a £25million price tag sounds too inviting if Leeds go down.
