Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is attracting serious interest from Borussia Dortmund.

According to German outlet Bild, Dortmund want to sign Trevoh Chalobah on loan with an option to buy.

The 24-year-old is yet to play a game under Mauricio Pochettino this season, though he has been out injured.

Nevertheless, it looks like Chalobah will be heading for the Chelsea exit door in 2024.

The reliable Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that the Blues will sell the former England U21 international next year before bringing in a new central defender.

Bild reporting that Dortmund are interested in Chalobah is not the biggest shock.

The German giants have not been afraid to tap into the English market before, bringing in Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham from Manchester City and Birmingham City respectively. Perhaps Chalobah could be their next success story.

He has the tools to be a useful player for Edin Terzic. For example, Chalobah is quite versatile, able to play in central defence, at right-back and in midfield.

Whether it is Dortmund or someone else, we think a move for the centre-half is what is best for him at this point.

With Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana all at the club, it is just hard to imagine him getting much game time.

Of course, injuries do happen and perhaps Chalobah could eventually convince Mauricio Pochettino like how Conor Gallagher has.

The England midfielder was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge all summer but has quickly become a key player under Pochettino, with injuries to other players aiding him.

Gallagher has started all 10 of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far this season and has even captained them. It shows that Chalobah could be an injury or two away from getting a chance, though he has to shake off his own fitness problems first.
