Ian Wright felt that Chelsea would be an excellent destination for Sergio Aguero after he departs Manchester City, speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast.

Aguero will bid farewell to City after the Champions League final at the end of this month, leaving behind him a legendary legacy with the Manchester club.

His next footballing movement is now under serious scrutiny, with several top European sides eager to snap up the striker.

Chelsea are one of those linked to the 32-year-old, as they continue their search for a new centre-forward.

Wright was adamant that a move to Stamford Bridge could be a highly beneficial for the Blues and Aguero.

“He should go to Chelsea,” said the former Arsenal attacker.

“When you look at (Edison) Cavani and the pace behind him (at Manchester United). (Luis) Suarez at Atletico (Madrid).

“Can you imagine Aguero up top for Chelsea, with Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, (Callum) Hudson-Odoi, (Christian) Pulisic, around him.

“That’s 25 goals. If I’m Chelsea and I can get him for a free, I’m going for him.”

A scoring return of that quality is something that Chelsea have been crying out for this season.

Tammy Abraham remains as the team’s top marksmen with 12 goals, but hasn’t started a match since February.

Behind him is out of favour Olivier Giroud and misfiring Timo Werner on 11.

The need for an efficient no.9 is pretty evident, something that Aguero has built a career upon.

Injuries have limited the Argentine’s game time this year.

However, he demonstrated in City’s recent 2-0 win over Crystal Palace that his elite finishing hasn’t disappeared.

Creating chances doesn’t seem to be Chelsea’s problem; converting them at a constant rate does.

Include a proven goal scorer like Aguero into Tuchel’s squad and they could be onto something special.

If you wouldn’t be happy seeing Aguero in Chelsea blue, I believe you’re lying.

Signing Erling Haaland feels like a fading possibility and I’m not sure why Romelu Lukaku would leave Inter Milan right now.

Of all the possible other options, Aguero is the best.

If he wants to continue proving himself in England and win trophies, there aren’t many better places to be than Chelsea currently.
