Chelsea’s first-team player is reportedly firmly in the transfer sights of a Champions League heavyweight club.
Even though the winter transfer window only just finished, the speculation is already beginning around what clubs may do at the end of the season in the summer period.
For Chelsea, they had a pretty busy January window, particularly when it came to exits. They loaned out the likes of Joao Felix, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Renato Veiga and Ben Chilwell to trim down the Blues squad.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is ‘very happy’ with the squad at his disposal as he looks to finish strongly his debut season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Champions League club determined to sign £59m Chelsea player
According to GiveMeSport, Bayern Munich are determined to sign Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku after missing out on his signature in the January window.
It is understood that the Blues are ‘very open’ to sanctioning the 27-year-old’s exit in the summer as they entertain the idea of selling him when transfer interest resurfaces.
The report says that German giants Bayern intend to revisit negotiations for Nkunku, who was valued at £59m by Chelsea in the winter. However, it’s likely they’ll need to lower their asking price for the French forward in order to offload him.
In addition, Bayern’s hierarchy are ‘significant admirers’ of Nkunku, so there’s a determination from them to buy him from Chelsea.
Bayern agreed personal terms with Nkunku in the previous transfer window but failed to reach an agreement with Chelsea. It sounds like this transfer saga will roll on later into 2025, though.

Christopher Nkunku can’t overcome one issue at Chelsea
Unfortunately, we’re doubtful that we’ll ever see the best of Nkunku in Chelsea colours. Even though he’s scored 13 goals across all competitions this season, he’s finding it impossible to break into the club’s best XI.
It’s glaringly obvious that he’s most effective in a central No.10 position, which is a role that Cole Palmer has locked down.
When Nkunku operates as the striker or off the wing, he usually fails to make much of an impact. For example, Craig Burley ripped into Chelsea’s Nkunku after his FA Cup display versus Brighton, where he played 90 minutes as the striker and was extremely ineffective.
If Nkunku does end up at Bayern, the worry for him is that he’ll fall into the same trap of being stuck behind Jamal Musiala.
