Chelsea’s £20m-rated player is reportedly attracting interest from a giant European club.

AC Milan, who have a recent history with Chelsea, are looking again at signing one of their players.

They’ve previously signed the likes of Fikayo Tomori, Christian Pulisic and Ruben-Loftus-Cheek from the Blues. The Italians can offer Champions League football to any new signing next season, whereas Chelsea will be competing in the UEFA Conference League.

AC Milan are thinking about Carney Chukweumeka

Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Italian giants AC Milan may be interested in signing Chelsea’s Carney Chukweumeka this summer.

It is understood that the Serie A club are considering bringing a new midfielder to the San Siro.

The report claims that Milan have looked at Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana. They’re also thinking about Chukweumeka, who’s someone that they targeted last year.

Should Chelsea keep him?

The Chelsea Chronicle certainly wouldn’t entertain any ideas of selling Chukweumeka. At most, they should loan him next season if game time is going to be an issue.

Chukweumeka, who cost Chelsea £20m (Sky Sports) from Aston Villa two years ago, is a technically gifted midfielder. Unfortunately, he’s had some bad luck with injuries. He’s only played 27 games across the last two seasons.

If he can get playing regularly, we’re confident the box-to-box central midfielder can shine at Stamford Bridge. Let’s see what new Blues head coach Enzo Maresca makes of him in pre-season.

Journalist Simon Phillips recently claimed via his Substack that Chelsea are open to sending Chukwuemeka out on loan in the 2024/25 season. This makes much more sense than a permanent sale!

The 20-year-old is one of the youngsters on Chelsea’s books we’re most excited about.

Speaking via Chelsea’s YouTube channel last year, Marcus Bettinelli hailed Bluess teammate Chukwuemeka as a player with an “unbelievable” first touch.
