Chelsea are still not ruling out the prospect of signing a new goalkeeper due to the underwhelming performances of their current crop.

The Blues have told Robert Sanchez he can leave the club, despite the fact the manager has made him the number one at the club.

Chelsea fans have asked for Mike Maignan to join the club, with the Blues pushing to bring him in before the Club World Cup deadline.

However, the club are now seemingly not looking towards the Frenchman in the current transfer market, with Maignan now weighing up a new contract at AC Milan.

Recent reports have stated that Enzo Maresca has lost faith in Sanchez, and wants the club to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer.

Chelsea add Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to their transfer shortlist

With Maignan seemingly off the table, it can be expected that a number of new names are going to be on the shortlist, with one of them being Barcelona shot stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Despite now being a six-time champion of La Liga with the club, he has lost his place as the regular goalkeeper at the club. He played just eight games in the competition last season.

This doesn’t seem to have deterred the Blues though. CaughtOffside have claimed that Chelsea have Ter Stegen on their shortlist for a new goalkeeper this summer.

The report goes on to say that a deal is not expected imminently, with them set to analyse their options before the window slams shut.

Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic saga

Many believed there would be a chance for Djordje Petrovic to become the number one this season after he starred on loan at Strasbourg.

However, the Serbian was left off the Club World Cup tour, and it emerged Petrovic had demanded to be the number one or he wanted to leave.

With Maresca still unsure about the returning loanee, it has become clear that he is going to be on the move this summer, and a number of top sides are interested in the shot stopper.

Three Premier League clubs want Petrovic, and it is understood Chelsea will not stand in his way should their price be matched.
