Chelsea are now trying to sign Folarin Balogun from Arsenal – who interestingly shares the same agent as Romeo Lavia.
That is according to the Telegraph.
So, what is the situation involving Chelsea and Folarin Balogun? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to Football Transfers – Chelsea have agreed personal terms with the American striker.
Balogun has worked his way onto Mauricio Pochettino’s radar after scoring 22 goals in 39 appearances while on loan at Reims last season.
Football Transfers added that Chelsea are willing to spend £30m on the United States international – although that is £20m below Arsenal’s £50m asking price.
Now – however – Chelsea could be helped by the fact that Balogun shares an agent with Lavia.

The Blues only recently negotiated with the Belgium international’s representatives – who are believed to be Elite Project Group – when signing the midfielder from Southampton in a £58m deal.
Therefore, the lines of communication should still be open to discuss a move for Balogun, while a relationship between Chelsea and Elite Project Group has now been created as a result of the successful negotiation involving Lavia.
Balogun would be a superb addition to Lavia at Chelsea
While things are a bit frustrating for Chelsea fans right now, Todd Boehly is building a side who could genuinely become one of the best in Europe within a few years.
Chelsea’s squad is packed to the brim with talented youngsters who possess world class potential, such as Moises Caicedo, Levi Colwill, Mykhailo Mudryk, Enzo Fernandez and Lavia.

Balogun is another who could become one of the best around within a few years time, and the Hale End graduate – who Mikel Arteta called a “rare” striker – would be a fantastic signing by Chelsea if a £30m deal can be done.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Balogun is pushing to leave Arsenal for regular first-team football.
