Chelsea are one of the teams really interested in signing Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes.
That is according to speculation in the Spanish media.
There’s been talk this week that Premier League club Newcastle may need to offload one of their high-profile stars in 2024. The Guardian reported yesterday that Newcastle know they could have to sell one of their best players in the summer to ensure they stay on the right side of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.
Interestingly, a transfer story has emerged hours later regarding Magpies ace Bruno Guimaraes.

AS claims today that Guimaraes is set to leave St James’ Park at the end of the season when the summer window comes around. This will massively help Newcastle with any financial issues.
It is explained that the 26-year-old’s got a release clause in his Newcastle deal worth around €115m (£99m). Apparently, buyers could pay that in three installments.
The report adds that Chelsea and Liverpool are the Premier League clubs most interested in signing Guimaraes, but a summer exit is deemed the likely scenario.
Also, Paris Saint-Germain are expected to make a move for the Newcastle and Brazil star next summer.
Chelsea interested in Bruno Guimaraes
Of course, Guimaraes would be a great signing for Chelsea. He’s the complete central midfielder that has been a huge catalyst in Newcastle’s rise in the last couple of years.
Will the Blues be prepared to reignite interest in him during the summer window, though?
Our feeling is that another £100m midfielder certainly shouldn’t be a priority for Chelsea. They need to get it right with the big names they have such as Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
Instead, the Blues should be splashing the cash on a striker to guarantee them 20-plus goals a season.
It’ll still be one hell of a signing for any club if they do manage to sign Guimaraes this year. Described as “incredible” by Eddie Howe (Northern Echo), Guimaraes is good enough for any XI in club football.
