Chelsea could be about to cost £40m youngster move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs

Chelsea are not interested in doing any favours for one of their European rivals this summer.

Chelsea have a whole host of players who are no longer wanted at the club, including Joao Felix, Raheem Sterling and Carney Chukwuemeka.

So far, Chelsea are blocking Felix from joining Benfica, with the Blues holding out for more money.

Chukwuemeka also finds himself in a very similar situation amid interest from Borussia Dortmund, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.

Chelsea not open to loaning Carney Chukwuemeka to Borussia Dortmund again

While Chelsea did allow Chukwuemeka to join Dortmund temporarily in February, they are very reluctant to do the same thing again.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has posted on X that Dortmund have been in talks with Chelsea for weeks over another loan deal but the Blues are only interested in a permanent transfer.

Their stance could see Chukwuemeka miss out on spending another season with one of Europe’s elite clubs.

Chukwuemeka is believed to have a £40m release clause in his contract, but no one has come forward to pay it so far.

Chelsea and Dortmund have already done some business during this transfer window, with the Club World Cup winners signing Jamie Gittens from their German counterparts. But that has not done the latter any favours in negotiations for Chukwuemeka.

Carney Chukwuemeka could get chance to join one of Chelsea’s London rivals

As of now, then, a move to Dortmund is off the table, and that will not change unless Chelsea change their stance or the Bundesliga outfit make a permanent offer for Chukwuemeka.

Chelsea’s London rivals West Ham United could be one possible option for the midfielder, though. At the start of the month, it was reported that West Ham could swoop in for Chukwuemeka if Mohammed Kudus joined Tottenham Hotspur.

Kudus’ move to Spurs has since gone through, so it may only be a matter of time before the Hammers make an offer for Chukwuemeka.
