Morgan Rogers was one of Arsenal’s top targets this summer, but Chelsea have beaten their London rivals to his signature.
Rogers’ transfer fee is £117m, which is a fee that Arsenal seemed unwilling to pay. They dithered and Chelsea swooped in and convinced the attacking midfielder to join them.

Bruno Guimaraes signing would help Chelsea close gap with Arsenal
Arsenal want Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes and have already made one bid for the midfielder.
However, Chelsea have also shown interest in Guimaraes, and while that interest did seem to cool at one stage, a transfer has still not been completely ruled out.
Journalist Simon Phillips has shared on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Guimaraes’ name has been mentioned to him again as a possible option for the Blues in this transfer window.
The journalist has hinted at another hijack but says the club would have to sell Enzo Fernandez first.
Signing Guimaraes would kill two birds with one stone. Chelsea can improve their team with the signing of the Brazilian and prevent Arsenal from getting better.
Ultimately, that could help Chelsea to close the gap a little with Arsenal, whom they finished 33 points behind last season.
Guimaraes is pretty much a complete midfielder who can do everything. It is why he would be such a good signing for either Chelsea or Arsenal.
On the ball, Guimaraes is a very talented midfielder. He can make brilliant passes, score goals and create them.
Last season, he recorded 14 goal contributions in 29 Premier League appearances, which is a solid return for a player in his position.
According to WhoScored, he also made 1.6 key passes per game and averaged 1.4 shots.
Off the ball, the 28-year-old works extremely hard and is not afraid to get stuck into a challenge. He had an average of 2.1 tackles per game in the previous campaign.
