Chelsea definitely won’t be selling Raheem Sterling during this summer transfer window.

That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Raheem Sterling, who had a mediocre first season in Chelsea colours last year, moved to Stamford Bridge in a £50million (Daily Mail) transfer from Manchester City.

The 28-year-old winger is likely to be underwhelmed by nine goals in 38 Blues appearances last season, but he’s set to get another crack to help the forward line in the 2023/24 campaign.

So, will new head coach Mauricio Pochettino take a liking to him?

Jacobs reported on Twitter yesterday that Chelsea have no plans to sell Sterling during a summer when so many high-profile stars are leaving.

He explained that the English attacker is “fully committed” in West London.

Also, there’s an excitement to work under Pochettino.

“Understand Chelsea are not considering selling Raheem Sterling,” Jacobs wrote.

“Sterling also fully committed to Chelsea for 2023/24 and is excited to play under Mauricio Pochettino.”

Remarkably, Sterling is now one of the oldest and most experienced members of this really young Chelsea squad.

Hopefully, the England star can thrive off extra responsibility and pressure.

We all know that Sterling is one of the individuals in the group capable of raising his game another level. It’s worth remembering this is a top-quality player who’s won a lot of trophies and scored a lot of goals in a successful career.

Our guess is he can be a real success in Pochettino’s preferred 4-2-3-1 system.
