Chelsea have a youngster on their books that they’ve got no desire to sell, but the plan is for him to spend next season out on loan developing his game.
It seems like every year the Blues send out a loan army to experience first-team football.
Chelsea have already completed the sales of Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson this window.
Meanwhile, Dylan Williams has joined Burton Albion on a season-long loan, with a view to signing a permanent deal next summer.
It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with the latest batch of Chelsea youngsters.

Chelsea aim to loan out Alex Matos
The Athletic claims that Chelsea don’t want to sell Alex Matos.
It is understood that the Blues want to send their 19-year-old youngster out on loan in the 2024/25 campaign.
This comes after he spent the second half of last season in the Championship on loan with Huddersfield Town. The English teenager played 20 games across all competitions as an important starter.
The report adds that Matos is already receiving attention this summer, with clubs from England’s second division expressing interest.
Also, French Ligue 1 sides and German Bundesliga teams are keen on the Chelsea prospect.
This transfer is a no-brainer
The Chelsea Chronicle agrees with the idea of allowing Matos more time out on loan to improve and mature.
At the age of 19, the aggressive central midfielder could still have a long-term future with Chelsea. The midfield position is currently stacked in the Blues first team, though.
Let’s see how much he can improve over the next year before assessing him in 2025.
Ultimately, the youngster just needs a loan where he’ll play consistently.
Speaking via Guardian Series last December, Mauricio Pochettino described Chelsea youngster Matos as “talented” after watching him in training.
