Chelsea are being linked with Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have responded by claiming they’d love to see him at Stamford Bridge.
90min reports that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has informed the Blues hierarchy that he wants to bring Verratti in during the summer transfer window.
After working with him at PSG, Tuchel is keen on a reunion with the 28-year-old in London.
The report explains that the midfielder would actually consider a potential transfer to the Premier League, amid a scouting mission from Chelsea on him.
Verratti is a deep-lying central midfielder that is one of the most technical players around, and comparisons can be made between him, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.
He’s been an ever-present in PSG’s success for so many years now, but he’s yet to play in England.
If Chelsea were to finally bring him to the Premier League, he’d arrive as someone with a reputation as one of the world’s elite midfielders due to the way he is so comfortable in keeping possession and useful with it going forward.
The £252,000-a-week (Salary Sport) Italian ace is understandably a favourite of Tuchel.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are excited by the Verratti links, and want to see him in the squad next season.
