Chelsea have confirmed that defender Jay Dasilva has exited Stamford Bridge permanently – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are furious with the news.
The Blues have announced on their official website that the 21-year-old has made a move to Bristol City on a permanent basis.
He spent last season out on loan with the Championship club and has now gone back to Ashton Gate.
Bristol City have exercised their option to make his move permanent this summer and he’s penned a four-year deal with them.
Dasilva impressed last season out on loan in the Championship and his career now lies away from Chelsea despite coming through the academy.
He is an attack-minded left-back that has tremendous pace and technical ability, something that made him a real favourite at Bristol City.
The full-back also represented England at the Under-21s European Championships this summer and is considered a rising talent.
Chelsea have seen one of their young talents slip through the net and a selection of supporters on social media have voiced their anger towards the player’s departure.
It leaves the Blues with Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri as the options at left-back for next season.
Here are some Chelsea fans commenting on Dasilva:
I feel let down but over the years so many of our players on loan have probably felt the same way so hopefully this is a wake up call to you all

Does this club realise we have a ban? We sticking with Alonso over actual talent. Shambles.

Why why why did you include a purchase clause 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Yet Alonso, who had the worst season of all time, still gets to keep his place?

We are stuck with Marcos Alonso, isn’t that glorious…🙄
