Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu completed a move to Premier League rivals Sheffield United on Monday night – and some of the club’s supporters Twitter have given a mixed response to the announcement.
The Blues confirmed on their official website that the 19-year-old has joined Sheffield United on a season-long loan, as he looks for regular top-flight experience at Bramall Lane.

Chris Wilder’s team were the surprise package in the Premier League last season with a ninth-placed finish and they have a system that could well suit Chelsea’s teenager.
Ampadu is a highly-rated talent that has been at Stamford Bridge since 2017 and he’s had a taste of it with 12 first-team games for Chelsea.
He is a versatile youngster that plays either centre-back or as a defensive midfielder, but there are still plenty of discussions about what is his best position long-term.
Sheffield United implement a back three system so well and Ampadu should be vying for a spot in that backline, alternatively though he’s shown he’s got the aggression and athleticism to slot into the centre of the park.

Despite the fact he was unable to make a serious breakthrough last season during his loan with RB Leipzig, Ampadu is a rising talent that many expect to become a senior Chelsea player further down the line.
He’s already a senior Wales international with 15 caps for his country and is someone potentially with a big future.
A selection of Blues supporters on social media feel that it’s a sensible move to give Ampadu the chance to develop at a Premier League club, but there are some who are convinced he was ready to stay with the main group this season and fight for a starting position.
