Chelsea fans react to reported Aston Villa interest in Pedro

Chelsea attacker Pedro is reportedly wanted by Premier League outfit Aston Villa in January – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are hopeful that the deal takes place.

According to the Telegraph, Villa want to try take the experienced 32-year-old to the Midlands when the transfer window re-opens in January.

It is understood that the Blues could let the attacker leave in the New Year due to a lack of minutes and a cut-price deal may be possible, as his current deal expires at the end of the season.

Pedro has been a brilliant servant since his move to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona in 2015, but he’s started to decline and an exit seems in the near future seems natural.

The versatile winger has 42 goals in 192 games for Chelsea, as well as winning a Premier League title, Europa League trophy and an FA Cup with the club.

With competition in the wide areas tough this season under manager Frank Lampard, Pedro has seen his minutes reduce drastically and he’s struggled to make an impact.

He’s scored just once in his nine games across all competitions and has only featured in four league matches.

A selection of Chelsea fans on social media have claimed they would be pleased to see Pedro exit.

As Villa are battling against relegation in the top-flight, there would be little risk in selling a player to them and it’s unlikely to come back to bite them if they did.
