Chelsea fans react to reported Crystal Palace interest in Conor Gallagher
On-loan Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace – and some Blues fans on Twitter have responded by insisting they don’t want to sell him.
The Express reports that Palace are interested in the Chelsea 21-year-old, who is currently on a season-long loan at West Brom.
It is understood that Palace are expected to make a move to try sign him in the summer transfer window, but Blues manager Thomas Tuchel will first take a look at him in pre-season.
Gallagher has played 24 games so far this season for West Brom, scoring two goals and supplying two assists.
He’s an all-action central midfielder who is technically great on the ball, has unbelievable stamina, and can contribute going forward.
After sending him out on loan during the 2019/20 campaign to Championship clubs, the Blues decided continue his development with a loan in the Premier League.
It’s been a difficult year with a West Brom side up against it in their relegation fight, but Gallagher has usually stood out for them in matches.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are adamant that selling Gallagher would be a mistake amid Palace interest.
It would be a huge ask for him to break into the Chelsea first-team squad next season given all the talent, but he can take inspiration from the fact there are several academy graduates in the senior team.
