Chelsea reportedly have Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Idrissa Gueye on their radar – and some of the club’s supporters are insisting that they don’t need him at Stamford Bridge.
Le10 Sport reports that Chelsea have the 30-year-old on their radar ahead of the January transfer window, as well as his PSG teammate Julian Draxler.

Gueye joined French champions PSG in the summer for £30million (BBC) from Everton and the Blues now have him on their shortlist, but the report explains it’s unlikely he would leave after just six months.
The Senegal international spent three years on Merseyside and a year previously with Aston Villa, where he helped build his reputation in England.
He is a defensive midfielder that is strong at breaking up play and covering his backline, something he’s done well too since his move to PSG.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media view Gueye as a bizarre target and they have a fair point.
Manager Frank Lampard has a stack of options in the centre of the park and there are definitely other areas on the pitch that need strengthening first.
N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Ross Barkley and Billy Gilmour are all potential options to be considered.

It seems unlikely that Gueye could break into the side even if he did join the Blues and they should look elsewhere.
