Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley is reportedly on the radar of Premier League rivals West Ham – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have claimed they would be happy to see him exit this month.

The Mirror reports that West Ham are looking at a potential move for the English playmaker during the current January transfer window.

It is claimed that manager David Moyes wants to form a reunion with the 26-year-old after working with him at Everton as a youngster and is eyeing a loan bid.

The report does state though that Chelsea still consider him to be firmly in their first-team plans at Stamford Bridge and don’t want to let him leave.

Barkley has only managed 11 appearances across all competitions this season and fallen quite far down the pecking order under boss Frank Lampard.

But he has played back-to-back matches in the last two games and has reminded everyone that on his day he can still offer plenty to the Chelsea team, as he scored against Nottingham Forest in the cup and impressed against Burnley in the league.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media have claimed they would like to see Barkley depart in January, with some even adding they want him go on a permanent basis too.

His teammate Mason Mount has got the nod over him for most of the season, but has Lampard had a change of heart in the last week following his displays.

One clear factor is that Barkley will want to be in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020 and right now he isn’t getting enough club level.
