Chelsea fans want Michy Batshuayi sold amid reported interest

Chelsea are reportedly receiving interest from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in Michy Batshuayi – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have claimed they are open to the idea of selling him.

The Daily Express reports that Frank Lampard’s side are willing to offload Batshuayi when the transfer window opens in the summer.

It is explained that Palace are ready to make a swoop for the 26-year-old, but will want to pay significantly less than the £45million they were quoted for him by the Blues in January.

The report details that the Belgium international has informed friends he wants to remain in London.

Batshuayi will be entering the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge next season, but Chelsea will allow him to depart a year early due to his reduced role in Lampard’s squad.

The striker has six goals in 24 senior games across all competitions this season for Chelsea, but has been stuck behind Tammy Abraham in the pecking order this season.

He’s also seen senior teammate Olivier Giroud get the nod over him in recent weeks, plus teenager Armando Broja came on for his debut at the weekend in the Premier League win over Everton and he was left on the bench.

Batshuayi had a positive loan spell last season with Palace by netting six times in 13 matches for them and looked comfortable at Selhurst Park.

The centre-forward is someone that can look composed in front of goal, but leading the line for a club striving to compete at the top does look a slight stretch beyond him.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media have suggested that getting rid of Batshuayi at the end of this season makes perfect sense.
