Chelsea get green light to sign Karim Adeyemi
Chelsea have been regularly linked with Karim Adeyemi over the years and now, German media is linking the Blues with the Germany international once again. The Dortmund star was left out of Germany’s squad.
According to Fussball Daten, he is set for an interesting summer regardless. Adeyemi is about to enter the final 12 months of his deal at Dortmund, and the German side are unwilling to meet his wage demands.
Adeyemi wants a whopping £167,000 a week, almost £60,000 more a week than he already earns. As per the report, Dortmund do not want to meet his demands or lose him on a free, leaving only one option.
The German club will have to cash in on Adeyemi this summer, with Chelsea named as a club strongly pursuing the striker. Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Manchester United are also touted as possible suitors.

Dortmund are said to value Adeyemi at a fee north of £50m, but are aware they do not hold all the cards when it comes to selling the German ace. For that reason, it is claimed Adeyemi will be sold for £35m.

According to Capology, a wage of £167,000 a week would see Adeyemi become Chelsea’s fourth-best player. As things stand, four Chelsea players earn more than the wage Adeyemi wants to receive.
But Marc Cucurella, who earns £175,000 a week, is now at Real Madrid. Reece James, Enzo Fernandez and Wesley Fofana are all on bigger wages than what Adeyemi may earn, should Chelsea make a move.
