Chelsea have just taken a ‘big step forward’ in their attempt to sign a Premier League star.

It looks like it could be another busy summer window for the Blues.

Chelsea’s owners have pumped so much cash into this squad since their takeover two years ago, but suggestions in the transfer rumour mill point towards more spending this summer.

Tosin Adarabioyo, 26, has already been confirmed as the club’s first new signing. The English defender officially joins on 1 July on a four-year deal.

It’s now been suggested that Chelsea are making progress in their bid to sign another player.

Chelsea make progress with £60m target

GiveMeSport claims that Chelsea have now agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace star Michael Olise.

It is understood that the Blues will now discuss with Premier League rivals Crystal Palace paying his release clause. Incidentally, The Evening Standard reports that Olise’s release clause is roughly around £60m.

GiveMeSport says that Chelsea have verbally agreed personal terms with Olise, something they did last year as well when they tried to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Apparently, Chelsea could yet face competition from Manchester United to sign the 22 year old Palace winger, so this transfer race is still very much open.

GMS states that Enzo Maresca’s side are not close yet to completing the signing, but it’s described as a ‘big step forward’.

Olise has a verbal agreement with Chelsea without officially signing any documents. Now, Chelsea are in contact with their London rivals as they tried to wrap up a marquee summer signing.

Michael Olise a statement signing

If Chelsea manage to sign Olise this summer, it will feel like a real signal of intent.

The French forward is so dangerous cutting infield on his left foot, something he’s done to great effect in the Premier League.

He scored 10 goals in just 19 league matches last season for Palace.

For sure, he’ll add extra firepower to Chelsea.
