Chelsea have just reportedly made an approach to sign a young player from the Spanish La Liga division.

It’s been pretty ruthless so far from the Blues when it comes to new signings in this summer transfer window.

Caleb Wiley has been confirmed as Chelsea’s newest addition this summer. He’s followed in the footsteps of Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Renato Veiga.

Estevao Willian has also been confirmed as a new recruit, but he won’t be joining up with the squad at Stamford Bridge until 2025. According to UOL, Palmeiras fans think Estevao has been sold cheaply.

Chelsea approach Filip Jorgensen, he wants to join

According to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano on X, Chelsea have made contact about signing Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.

It is understood that Enzo Maresca’s side have made an “initial approach” for the 22-year-old keeper.

Apparently, the La Liga star is “keen” on a potential transfer to West London. The Villarreal man is one of four goalkeepers being considered by Chelsea this summer, though.

Jorgensen helped Villareal finish eighth in La Liga last season, keeping six clean sheets in his 36 league appearances.

Could we now see him playing in the Premier League for the first time in his career?

It’s worth noting that he’s still in the very infancy of his senior career and has only played 44 first-team matches so far.

The Villareal goalkeeper has already spoken publicly this summer about the transfer speculation linking him with Chelsea.

Speaking via Tipsbladet last month, Jorgensen said the Chelsea links are flattering. He commented: “It is fun. It shows that I have done something good and done it well.

“It is hard to say (about his future). I just want to get better every day and do the best I can. There is no definite plan. If something good comes up, we can talk about it and look at what is best for me, for Villarreal and everyone involved.”
