Chelsea have now made contact with Portimonense to ask about signing Filipe Relvas.
That is according to Foot Mercato.
So, what was written about Filipe Relvas and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the French news outlet believe Chelsea have enquired about the 23-year-old.
Foot Mercato believe the Blues are keen to bring Relvas to Stamford Bridge, although Chelsea face competition from VfL Wolfsburg, Benfica and Besiktas.
It is also said that Portimonense may be willing to do business for less than £9m.

Todd Boehly is keen to hoover up Europe’s best young talents and hand them over to Mauricio Pochettino, and the American clearly feels Relvas is a similarly precocious talent to the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Malo Gusto and so on.
The Espinho-born defender has played every minute of the 2023/24 campaign so far for Portimonense, although the Portuguese side have only tasted victory in one of their four games.
Who is Chelsea target Filipe Relvas?
The centre-back is hardly a household name across Europe like Thiago Silva, for example, so many Chelsea fans might not have heard much about him.
If that is the case, let’s take a closer look at Relvas.
According to a detailed scouting report by Breaking The Lines, the 6ft 4in defender is an “incredibly versatile” footballer who can operate as a left wing-back, a left sided centre-back or also in the middle of a back three.
Breaking The Lines add that Relvas boasts very “quick feet” for a player so tall, and has the potential to follow in the footsteps of Portuguese stars such as Ruben Dias.

If that is the case, then Chelsea fans should be excited about this link – perhaps more for the future than now, as Pochettino doesn’t really need any more new defenders. A loan to Strasbourg might beckon if a deal is struck.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Chelsea enquire about Relvas.
